This is one of the most unique wine-infused salts available in Australia — and it is made right here in Victoria

Chef Sebastian Simon combines natural Australian sea salt flakes with locally produced Shiraz wine, smokes the blend to draw out its richest qualities, then ages it in oak barrels to deepen and lock in those complex wine characteristics. The result is a smoked red wine salt with a rich, full-bodied flavour that adds a decadent, restaurant-quality finish to food.

How to use Smoked Shiraz Salt:

  • Finish a beef fillet, lamb rack, or slow-braised short rib just before serving
  • Stir through a ragout or red wine pasta sauce at the end of cooking
  • Season a charcuterie board or cheese platter for an elevated entertaining touch
  • Scatter over roasted beetroot, mushrooms, or root vegetables
  • A standout seasoning for any dish where red wine would naturally belong
